Issue
Chris Mauth, the property manager at Oak Hill Business Park in Charlotte NC reported a large theft of lap-top computers that occurred while security was supposedly working on their premises. Several of the tenants in the building questioned the whereabouts of the security officer. The problem was that there was no proof that the officer was on the premises at the time of the break-in, or had even been on the property that night at all.

Solutions
Mike Dial, Division Manager of Charlotte Security for The Budd Group suggested that we develop a system that could track the movements and location of the officer during their shift.  This system should then be able to report real time activity of the officer to a monitoring system and then to the Operations team via email.  This system would need to provide indisputable evidence of the security guards location at all times.  These requirements eliminated the traditional Patrol Scan or Detex Key Systems.

Mike had recently discovered some of the new tracking systems available using vehicle Global Positioning System (GPS).  After some additional research Mike decided that Tracknet a GPS system from Solid Communications of New Orleans LA would be the best solution.
 
Bill Cahill, the Tracknet representative installed an evaluation system into one of our vehicles.  The system performed better than advertised and surpassed our expectations.

Mike had Tracknet installed into the vehicle used at the Oak Hill Business Park.  The customer is now able to easily see where our security vehicle is and when it is on his property. 

Mike has decided that this new vehicle tracking system will be installed in all of his new security vehicles for any account.  "It is the only system I'm aware of that will provide the information that can satisfy all involved", says Mike.

Value
The cost of this solution is considered as an increase in the vehicle cost as well as an increase in monthly communications costs.  The value is quickly determined when our customers see that they actually can get assurance that our security guards are where they are supposed to be.  We have not had to use this information in any criminal or civil cases; however we are confident that the location and movement reports are reliable evidence when needed.

A secondary value to the system is the increased performance of rounds and tours by our employees.  The Budd Group hires the best possible security guards and trains them to perform the task properly; however having a tracking system on the vehicles helps to increase the performance of our guards.

I wanted to thank you for your help with the implementation of the GPS tracking system for Singer Kitchens.  As you know, I had been considering a GPS tracking system for many years and had looked at several different solutions. Tracknet has already proved to be the all around best solution for us.  The system is reliable, easy to use and allows us to monitor our trucks via the internet.  I am extremely pleased to report that we have recouped our initial investment in only 2 weeks through payroll savings.  I wish all my investments paid off this quickly!

We currently use your TrackNet Service to track our Plumbing Contractors Service trucks (Ford F-150's - 250's). I have regained total control of my labor force. My guys have take home vehicles. Your system gives me Total Accountability of their time on the job, and at home... I also had one of my trucks stolen a few months ago. I gave the Police the address of where my truck was, and they arrested the guys the day it was stolen. TrackNet has made a Big, Positive difference in keeping my team honest too...!

PS. I didn't mention the 10% across the board, fuel savings we saw in the first 2 months of use. It's actually 12 % now...

We currently use your Tracknet Services to track our Team of Building Maintenance Crews, who pressure wash large office buildings in the Greater Phoenix, AZ area. One of our $35,000 Rigs was stolen, with the
Vehicle that pulls this equipment. Within minutes after the police called me, I directed them to our stolen property, using the internet, Tracknet's system, and the police. I was able to direct the police to the exact address of where my Vehicle and Rig were located. My equipment and vehicle were recovered without any damage within 15 minutes!

In my business a timely delivery sometimes is the only thing that stands between me and my competition. Viewing my truck's activity throughout the day, I have been able to almost completely eliminate speeding and driver inactivity on company time.

I have also been able to view the drivers history in order to help him find better routes in order to deliver more stops in a day.
